Anthem Ranch homes were marketed to active adults, but their cabinets still follow production-builder habits: base cabinets with doors and shelves, uppers at the usual height, and an island sized for looks. That's a fair starting point. It isn't an aging-in-place kitchen.
The upside of a newer house is that the boxes are often sound and the plumbing is modern. Targeted changes become practical: drawer bases swapped in for door bases, pull-down units added above, knobs traded for pulls. When the whole room needs reworking, full cabinet replacement is the cleaner route. Check the community association's rules on contractor access and work hours before scheduling.
Bathrooms follow the same logic. A taller vanity spares the back. A wall-hung vanity with clear space underneath lets someone sit at the sink. Our bathroom vanity work can be planned alongside grab-bar blocking, since the wall may be open anyway.
